PILOT STUDY OF CLONAL DELETION IN KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION

The ideal condition for long-term allograft survival would be rejection-free transplantation without maintenance immunosuppression. This study describes a step towards achieving that goal. Pre-transplant deletion of donor specific immune reactive cell clones may provide means for eliminating need for post-transplant immunosuppression. We report here the preliminary results of the first 62 patients transplanted under this new clonal deletion protocol.
