Carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) has been reported as a high performance electrode for detection of different types of compounds such as ascorbic acid, uric acid, phenols, dopamine, hydrogen peroxide, and hydrazine [1]. Electrodeposition is an economical and convenient choice for preparing uniform and size controllable nano-materials, which have been applied for electrocatalytic detection of bioorganic substances [2-4]. There are many advantages of nonenzymatic glucose detection without employing glucose oxidase, such as stability, simplicity, reproducibility and being free from oxygen limitation [5]. Combining the advantageous features of ILs and the electrodeposition method, we developed a nonenzymatic glucose sensor based on Ni nanoparticles (NiNPs) electrodeposited on carbon ionic liquid electrode.
