The production of inorganic-organic composites from silica and polyurethane (PUR) or other polymers has been a topic of applied polymer research for many years. Commonly, the silica is supplied with water glass or solid highly disperse silicas, aerosils, aerogels, zeoliths and silicates or organic silicon compounds. The results of syntheses are often dis-appointing because the incorporation of silica into the polymer comes along with a drasti-cally deterioration of properties due to leaning effects and poor workability of the reaction mixture. Furthermore, only small amounts of silica can be incorporated into the polymer.~(1-6)
