For the first time nuclear track emulsion is exposed to relativistic ~9C nuclei. A systematic pattern of the distributions of charge combinations of fragments in the peripheral interactions of ~9C nuclei in a nuclear track emulsion has been obtained. The main conclusion is that the contribution of the channel ~9C→~8B + p and ~9C→~7Be + 2p is most important in events that do not involve the production of target-nucleus fragments or mesons (coherent dissociation). It can be concluded that in the peripheral 9C dissociation the picture hitherto obtained for 5B and 'Be with the addition of one or two protons. respectively, is reproduced. Three coherent dissociation events ~9C→3~3He accompanied by neithertarget fragments of the nucleus target nor charged mesons are identified.
