Early echocardiographic manifestations of primary chronic septic endocarditis

This paper is a fragment of the study concerning the echocardiography manifestations of early stages ofprimary chronic septic endocarditis (PCSE) in 60 patients with valvulitis of one, two and three valves. It wasshown, that the main morphological substrate of PCSE is fibrosis, and the basic tendency – progressive fibrosisof valvular and extra-valvular structures. It reflects an intrinsic pathology of the trend away from localendocardial lesion to a more diffuse and, in some cases, it results in reduction of effective area of the valvularorifices and their stenosis. Trans-esophageal Echo-CG against the background of II degree of activity in allpatients revealed the presence of all types of vegetations: from recent to organized.
