摘要

This paper presents evaluation data following the implementation of a multiprofessional online mentor update tool designed to meet the learning needs of mentors in clinical healthcare practice. The huge resources needed to sustain traditional delivery of the updates, plus the inability of mentors to attend these events, were amongst the main drivers for the development of this tool. Results of the evaluation have identified that the flexibility of the online tool promotes engagement for both mentors and their line managers, and in doing so provides academic staff to alternatively utilize the time saved delivering it. The multiprofessional originality and uniqueness of the package has also promoted users to consider the mentor role from an inter-disciplinary perspective. With the Nursing and Midwifery Council praising the package as an example of innovative good practice, it is intended to promote its use in other regions that provide healthcare education.
