摘要

In 2002, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) of Japan began "Special Project for Earthquake Disaster Mitigation in Urban Areas (Dai-Dai-Toku in Japanese)". As one of the project, a series of full size vibration tests of traditional Japanese wooden house with different designs were conducted in NIED E-defense, the largest shaking table in the world, to investigate their seismic performance under earthquake. Using the shaking table test data, in this paper, studies on dynamic characteristics and seismic performance of traditional Japanese wooden house are performed, in order to better understand the seismic behaviors of these structures.
