Based on a great mass of Investigation and research of construction in Southwest China after the Wenchuan earthquake, through the site investigation and continuous sampling, a lot of reference datum were collected. Approximately 3600 houses, from 40 investigation sites of Mianyang, Deyang, Chengdu, etc, were surveyed in field. In this paper, the statistical analysis of building structures in Southwest China was done from building types, seismic damage, building height and building materials, on the Basis of the destructive characteristic and damage mechanism about brick-concrete structure, frame structure of bottom story and frame structure. Through the building's destructive characteristic, the building structure's dynamic response and aseismic mechanism was analyzed. The conclusion about of destructive characteristic have great reference value for the seismic design and quakeproof work.
