STOCHASTIC WEBS IN MULTIDIMENSIONS

Stochastic web is a thin net that penetrates phase space of dynamical system and has dimensionality less or equal to the dimension of the phase space. Dynamics within the stochastic web is chaotic and separated from the dynamics outside the web, which could be regular. Arnold web or a web with quasicrystal symmetry are examples of the stochastic web. Particles transport can be unbounded along the webs. We review the origin of the web with symmetry in 1 1/2 degrees of freedom and present examples of kicked coupled oscillators with the stochastic webs for 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 degrees of freedom. In both cases the web has co-dimension two in the phase space.
