VPL_iono is a good measure of ionosphere integrity. Ionosphere residual error is strongly dependent on interpolation method Used. The interpolation method should be validated by comparing the result with a more dense network of station→test of stability of the interpolation method. Large scale/small scale of ionosphere effect must be characterized in order to design an adaptive interpolation method that provides more realistic effect. First step toward a characterization of ionosphere threat model over Europe.
