Styrene Block Copolymer Tie-Layer Adhesives in Flexible Packaging Applications

摘要

Maleic functionalized hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers (MA-HSBC's) are candidate tie-layer adhesives for bonding non-polar substrates such as polyolefins with polar substrates such as: polyamide and ethylene vinyl alcohol. The peel adhesion and melt theology of MA-HSBC tie-layer adhesives has been enhanced through various methods in order to achieve optimal performance in coextraded structures. The performance of these MA-HSBC copolymers in multi-layer co-extruded structures, including the rheological characteristics, adhesive properties, optical properties, physical properties, and compatibility of simulated regrind will be discussed in this paper.
