The design of PP material with a low modulus, excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength and impact resistance and ease of manufacturing is still a challenge in the industry. This recent study will outline research on heterophasic polypropylene materials in combination with different polyethylene copolymers. The right morphology and modification of these multiphase blends turned out to be essential for the final mechanical properties. The characterization of the blends via Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) as well as mechanical evaluation led to guidelines for the development of blend systems combining softness, toughness and ease of production.
