The XEUS focal plane instruments

This paper describes the focal plane instrumentation of the XEUS mission as proposed for ESA's Cosmic Vision program. Each of the instruments is described in some detail with its performance characteristics given. The development status of the instrument complement and the items requiring further development are indicated.
