Critical Areas of Focus in a First Graduate Software Engineering Course

摘要

This paper addresses three important areas of coverage for a 1st graduate course in Software Engineering. While there is basic information to cover, focusing on three areas of coverage can be quite effective. One is the allocation and structure of class diagrams at the analysis level in order to capture and understand the structure of the system. It is also important to have hands on experience with tools, such as Rational Rose to understand modern design and development practices. It is also important to review the software engineering literature, and evaluate a specific paper for application use in order to understand the importance of research in Software Engineering.
