The effect hydrophilicity of surface (area) of a single substrate on the deposition behavior of charged aerosol particles was investigated. The more hydrophilic area was obtained by chemical treatment of a metallic substrate. The more hydrophilic area showed higher negative potential measured by a surface potential meter. Electrical field numerically simulated by a simulation and experimental studies showed that positively charged aerosol tended to approach on the area with higher hydrophilic level. The results indicated that more hydrophilic area could collect and immobilized the coming aerosol particles than the other area.
