Several modularization methodologies exist in literature, but each is optimized based on certain criteria. This research compares three well-known modularizing methods by analyzing them from a variety and assembly viewpoint. These methodologies include: Function Heuristic Method, Behavioral-driven Function-Environment- Structure framework, and Decomposition Approach. Methodologies are compared using Oral-B Dual Clean electronic toothbrush design as input. It is observed that by applying same inputs to the methodologies, resultant modules obtained were different for each methodology. Our hypothesis for comparison is the method offering highest ease of assembly, and accommodating variety to meet future customer needs is the most efficient. Decomposition Approach is observed to be most efficient methodology.
