This document deals with the auto parts supply from Mexico to some of the assembly plants of an American auto company located in U.S. And Canada. The ratio between the time required to cross the Mexico-US border (Nuevo Laredo/Laredo, TX) and the total transit time to final destination ranges between 15% and 50%. Quite frequently, trailers containing export auto parts spend more time waiting for border clearance than they do on the road. Two new proposals are developed to redesign the current process, and if applied, savings for the auto company could reach up to $2,000,000 U.S. Dollars per year.
