Nuclear Legacy Problems and Their Solutions Within the Federal Target Program Nuclear and Radiation Safety Assurance for 2008 and for the Period Till 2015

This paper analyses problems of nuclear legacy caused by different reasons: technological, economic, etc. These challenges relate to SNF and RW management, nuclear submarines dismantlement, remediation of shore territories, and decommissioning of nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities. The advantages are discussed of the programs and target method applied for the mentioned problem solving.
