In order to duplicate the global or elliptic hollow on the surface of mirror steel sheets, the experimental research was carried out to try to build micro-convex topography on leveler roller by laser-texture. The profile of this micro-convex made by Nd: YAG pulsed laser is greatly different from that (which is like crater) made by CO2 pulsed laser. The processing parameters to grow micro-convex are given. The micro-hardness and abrasive text of micro-convex have been done with the better results which can meet the needs for leveler process. The theoretical analysis was made to investigate how the friction factor between the rubbing surface of roller and sheets, the rate of rolling press and the distribution of micro-convex influence on the duplication performance during the leveler rolling process used the boundary lubricating model considered of the elastic distortion of microconvex. The experiments are given the accordant results with the theoretical analysis.
