With the extensive using of GFR.P in many kinds of fields, the recycled glass fiber from GFRP has also been concerned highly by the people. A new environment friendly composite of cellulose fiber/glass fiber (GF)/SiO_2 using recycled glass fiber by sol-gel and hot compression methods was detailedly studied. In this composite, fibers were combined each other by chemical bonds, and the degree of crosslinking of the polysiloxanes was steered by the concentration of TEOS concentrations. In this study, the tensile strength, spring constant and morphology of this composite had been studied. TEOS treatment could improve the composite's mechanical properties remarkably. The tensile strength of pure GF/bamboo mat was 267 KPa, and after TEOS treating, 90 °C hot compression treating and curing in oven, the tensile strength could be increased to 6.80 MPa by loading 37% silica in this composite. However, the spring constant decreased with SiO_2 content increasing. Scan electron microscope showed that recycled glass fibers and bamboo fibers were connected strongly by polysiloxanes.
