摘要

Since fouling is the primary challenge in membrane systems, fouling control is a prerequisite for the use of anaerobic membrane bioreactors (AnMBRs) for domestic wastewater (DWW) treatment. Previous literature has revealed that extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) are a primary cause of fouling in MBRs. Struvite has also been found as a fouling contributor in AnMBRs.
