This paper reports on the synthesis of Zn_2SiO_4:Mn~(2+), a green phosphor, by a homogeneous precipitation method as apart of our synthetic research on silicate-based phosphors by an aqueous solution process employing the water-soluble silicon compounds (WSS), which we have developed recently. The homogeneous precipitation method involving WSS as a Si source yielded a single-phase Zn_2SiO_4:Mn~(2+) after a heat-treatment at 800 °C.
