Examination of transmission is crucially important for the safety and efficiency of complicated machine units. The purpose of the study is to work out the formulae according to which the condition of transmission will be monitored when being in the very state of exploitation. In the research centers various systems have been designed and tested so far. Their aim was to analyze the vibrating signals, which afford the possibilities to examine the various types of damage that are generated to the transmission, gear wheels as well as roller bearings. However, those researches have been scrutinizing a general damage to the gears, leaving open the question of the complex cases in which the other elements having been impaired by use or wear interfere with the condition of the gears. This study presents the author's approach towards the examination of the complex cases of damage affecting the gears. The analysis concerning the model as well as real stand vibration signals has been carried out to estimate the condition of gear influenced by the interference of the transmission signal, whose interruption results from the damage in the bearings. The author's method enables to track down the amplitude as well as phase changes in vibration signals of the wheel damage regardless of the bearing condition. Additionally, it enables to detect the damage having been generated to the gear in the early stage of its development.
