Structural relaxation and crystallization of amorphous 1,2-dichloroethane prepared by vapor deposition were studied by X-ray diffraction and light interference in the film samples. We estimated the characteristic temperature Tr, that represents the start of the structural relaxation, and the crystallization temperature Tc from the change of diffraction patterns during the temperature elevation with a constant rate. Tr increased while Tc decreased with increasing the deposition temperature Td. These Td dependences of Tr and Tc were almost linear and then crossed each other around Td = 85 K. It was found that amorphous samples were hardly formed in this temperature region but seemed obtainable by increasing the deposition rate.
