NEC Lamilion Energy, Ltd. (NLE) has developed the lithium -ion rechargeable battery with the lithium manganese spinel cathode and laminate-type cell for electric vehicles (EV). Lithium manganese spinel has superior properties such as safety, low cost and abundance in natural resources. Laminate-type cell shows excellent quick charge performance. Therefore, the laminate-type Mn lithium-ion battery is suitable for EV. The paper discusses the performance testing of this battery in the actual EV application.
