Moving people within an extraordinary environment The engagement of APM on sustainability

APM invests, both economically and through the commitment and expertise of its employees, on the future of public mobility on the area covered. Some of the projects APM is investing on: a) The Minimetro, that APM contributed to build and today manages. It is a modern Automated People Mover system over viaducts and through tunnels by rope hauling with automatic gripping of the vehicle, connecting the city centre with a suburban area with parking for up to 3,000 cars. b) The realization of a cogeneration plant. The plant will burn and biomasses (shredded straw and sorghum), producing a power of 1 MWe. c) Development, production and marketing of dual fuel equipments. The equipments allow to supply power to Euro 0 and Euro 2 diesel power buses, very polluting, with a mixed combustion of compressed natural gas and diesel, in order to cut down the harmful emissions.
