MOBILE SOLUTIONS FOR REMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING SYSTEMS

The paper includes a practical approach concerning the mobile solutions for remote environmental monitoring systems. Several technologies denominated by 2G, 2.5G and 3G are presented as data communication services including Internet access and e-mail based signaling of critical events associated with monitoring processes. Additionally are considered different environment sensor networks whose communication blocks are based on IEEE803.11a/b/g, IEEE802.15.1 and IEEE802.15.4 protocols. Elements about bandwidth, range, power consumption as well as the interfacing with the measurement modules are included in the paper.
