Electronics in nowadays automobiles has already reached a high complexity, even increasing in the future. The so-called MOST (“Media Oriented Systems Transport”) is especially designed for bus systems for infotainment (information + entertainment) in automobiles [1]. By the rising complexity of the systems and its components, the fault liability is also increasing. To avoid possible failures of the vehicle by disturbances of the electronics, highly sophisticated test procedures are developed and matured more and more. The basis of these test procedures is the MOST specification which is provided by the MOST Cooperation. This work deals with the improvement of an automated “MOST25 Full Physical Layer Compliance Test” for a measuring set-up at the MB-technology GmbH (Daimler). Furthermore experimental investigations using Y-splitters and an attenuator were carried out. Tests are carried out for the MOST fiber-optic transmitter and receiver systems (Fiber-Optic Transceiver, FOT) which should proof of a perfect 25 Mbit/s - signal transmission.
