摘要

The Fe-Cr-B composite (so called M alloy) is a metal/ceramic composite exhibiting excellent mechanical and wear resistance properties due to the formation of a reinforcing phase (boride) in the Fe-matrix [1], But, these Fe-Cr-B composites have been limited only to coating materials due to the difficulty in shape control despite their excellent mechanical properties [2, 3]. Therefore, we tried to fabricate Fe-Cr-B composite using metal injection molding (MIM) process, and investigated its microstructure, room/high temperature tensile and high-temperature oxidation properties. Hot isostatic pressing (HIP) was also additionally applied for density improvement, and the material was compared to an as-sintered one.
