Wright Industries Incorporated is a long time integrator of robots. As an integrator, WE TAKE THE RISK that a robot will perform in an application, NOT the robot company. Many applications emphasize position precision and speed. We must be impartial to a specific company's products and select the optimal robot for an application based on precision, settling time, speed, etc. Cost overruns have occurred because of schedule delays associated with lengthy debug periods and redesign. In many instances, overages were a result of robot performance assumptions made based on a specification. We have found that, when it comes to robot specifications, there is great truth to the statement, "IT'S WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW THAT MIGHT HURT YOU". A robot is a mechanically intense systems - not a trusted precision device. When a performance problem arises, think ROBOT.
