A study on workflow management system for virtual distribution center based on web service

摘要

Virtual distribution center (VDC) is a new mode for the integration of logistics resources. To realize the distribution function through the cooperation among several logistics enterprises, cross-organizational business process management based on information sharing is a necessity, so a workflow system that can guarantee the smooth information flow and effective control of business process is the basis for VDC. Because member enterprises of VDC always have their own workflow management system, it is impossible to construct a centralized and unified workflow management system from scratch, so the workflow management system should be a cross-organizational workflow management system based on the integration of member enterprises' workflow management system. This paper presents a workflow management system for VDC after the essence of cross-organizational workflow is explained, and the workflow architecture, interoperation mode and solution for system integration are discussed.
