The Universities of Technologies are public university institutes for scientific, cultural and professional activities. Under the supervision of the "Minister of National Education, High Education and Research", the Universities of Technology give state certificates. At the same time "Great Engineering School" and University, they have an original place in the French higher education the three French Universities of Technology (Belfort-Montbeliard, Compiegne and Troyes) work in network: their mission is education, research and technology transfer.
