Anthrax has been the recent focus of attention as a potential biologicalwarfare agent. It has been estimated that 50 kg of Bacillus anthracis sporesreleased upwind over a population center of 500,000 would result in up to95,000 fatalities, with an additional 123,000 persons incapacitated frominhalational anthrax.
