Patent litigation is becoming an important part of business operations in the biotechnology sectors,for patent holders and their competitors developing strategies for effective patent litigation is of great importance. In recent years,litigation in this area has been on the rise,the high stakes and costs associated with biotechnology patent litigation create strategic concerns for all parties involved. This article empirically investigates the phenomenon and discusses several topics of particular relevance to patent litigation strategies,including patent application,patent portfolios,alliance and licensing strategy,patent due diligence and blocking strategy.
