Current Coating Issues-Best of What's New (Tom Calzone) Coating technology has made great advances in the last decade from germinate primers to ultra-durable finishes. These choices provide designers a new medium for expression using architecturally exposed structural steel while removing the burden of maintenance painting from their clients. High performance coating systems are growing rapidly in popularity and will be commonplace in a few short years. This paper describes the available technology in comparison to traditional systems.
