Correlation of Permeability for the Travis Peak Formation

Civan’s power-law equation of permeability derived based on a bundle of leaky tubes model of tortuous flow paths in porous media is proven to describe a large amount of permeability and porosity data of the Travis Peak Formation in Northern Gulf Coast Basin of the U.S.A. Its parameters are shown to correlate consistently well with the cementation factor. It is demonstrated that these correlations can be used for prediction of permeability in the field.
