A SUCCESS STORY - MV SUBSEA CABLE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION AT HORNS REV II OFFSHORE WIND FARM

Nexans Deutschland has been supplying and installing all MV subsea cables for both, Horns Rev I and Horns Rev II offshore wind farms off the Danish coast. The authors will with the background of his hands-on experience describe the challenges of designing, producing, transporting and installing the MV subsea power cables and their related accessories between the individual turbines and to the transformer platform. Special focus will be given to the importance of detailed planning and preparing for work at this great distance from shore, including offshore training, safety measures and contingencies.
