This paper presents the methodology of the EU project ANEMOS.plus, which aims at developing advanced tools for the management of power systems with large-scale wind generation. Focus is given on functions such as optimal scheduling, reserves estimation, bottleneck management, storage management and optimal trading. Existing tools for such functions are often deterministic and do not fully integrate forecasts and uncertainty estimates of the future wind generation. The aim here is to propose advanced tools for the above functions that fully integrate such forecasts and to demonstrate their value for end-users through demonstration projects in eight European countries.
