Within operation and maintenance of wind energy organizations, over 25 percent of life cycle cost is related to services and corrective practices. The expected benefits of applied programs like condition based maintenance and reliability centered maintenance have not fully achieved due to lack of well defined and implemented operation and maintenance information system (OMIS). Therefore, this paper reviews and analyses the current information systems in order to assess them within wind energy organizations towards achieving causal understanding of problems, requirements, capabilities and characteristics and provide the ability to enhance current practices by cost effective improvements and promising solutions.
