In this article, the throttle slice stress coefficient and formula is found through the relation with the deformation and inner force. Followed is a practical example for stress computation of single throttle slice with this method, together with its approximately by Machine Design Book and numerical simulation by ANSYS, compared the methods for stress computation. Based on this, researched the stress and equivalent thickness of superposition throttle slices, the coefficients of thickness and stress, the formulas of equivalent thickness and permission maximum thickness is found. With the practical example of hydro-pneumatic spring, the thickness of superposition throttle slices is designed, the equivalent thickness and maximum stress is validated, and the performance and reliability tests are conducted for the superposition throttle slices hydro-pneumatic spring and single throttle slice hydro-pneumatic spring. The experiment and analysis results show that the analytic formulas of stress and equivalent thickness of hydro-pneumatic spring throttle slice is accurate, the methods of thickness design and stress analysis for superposition throttle slices is reliable, which has important reference value for hydro-pneumatic spring design.
