Model Updating for Disk-Rod-Fastening Rotor Based On DOE

This paper presents a model updating approach by combining the design of experiments technology (DOE) with design parameters updating methodology, and improves the finite element model of disk-rod-fastening rotor based on natural frequency. Using DOE, regression analysis, variance analysis, response surface methodology and steepest descent method replace the iterative calculation and sensitivity analysis in the traditional model updating method to reduce the calculation. For the structure of disk-rod-fastening rotor is very complex and has many interface, divide the updating procedure into two steps, modify different parameters in each step, in the first step, select the part's material properties as updating parameters, and in the second step select the interface parameters caused by the assembly of parts as updating parameters. Then use the parameters obtained above to analysis a similar rotor. The results show that this approach is useful for complex structure's model updating such as disk-rod-fastening rotor.
