Efficacy of Immunization in Different Poultry Species

Avian influenza is a devastating disease of poultry and is also a threat to public health, as new influenza viruses might emerge that cause a new influenza pandemic in humans. Biosecurity measures form the first line of defence against the introduction and subsequent spread of influenza viruses; however, biosecurity is hampered by the complexity of the poultry industry and the ways in which poultry are kept in some regions.
