The difference between maximal and minimal values for epsilon, (DELTA)(epsilon), is the spindle's axial run-out: (DELTA)(epsilon) velence 2 (D_(1)/L_(1) u_(1) v_(1) + D_(2)/L_(2) u_(2) v_(2)) (15) To obtain the actual run-out of the spindle, both sides of (15) need to be multiplied by the nominal gap, z_(0). As long as the nominal gap is significantly larger than the run-out in the parts, the axial run-out of the spindle will be very small compared to the run-out of the individual parts.
