The Bologna process, in which the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) is being established, is reaching its last step, since the implementation of the new Degrees is expected to be by 2010. Therefore, it is necessary to change the present Bachelor programmes in order to adapt them to the EHEA requirements. This fact requires a significant effort to design and shape the contents and competences in all the Degrees in which a specific area is involved. This planning task should be carried out jointly by all the teaching staff. A teaching network was constituted by all the teaching staff of the Analytical Chemistry area of the University of Alicante. In this network, the curriculum design of the area was adapted according to EHEA agreements. Both ANECA (i.e. the Spanish Agency for the Quality Assessment) and SEQA (i.e. the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry) proposals were employed as background. The working methodology of the network was established as follow: from the management, one subgroup was created for each one of proposed subject. These working sub-groups elaborated drafts of the contents for each subject, which were then discussed with the remaining network members, according to the scheduled meetings detailed in a schedule table previously created by the management. As a result, the contents and extension for each subject were detailed. The contents were distributed according the European Credits Transfer System (ECTS), taking into account different learning activities: master classes, laboratory classes, seminars, mentorings, works and presentations, etc.
