The incorporation of new Information and Communication Technologies usually has a profound impacton Education. Mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, etc. are becoming ubiquitous and theycan turn into valuable tools when they are integrated as elements of the teaching-learning process.We present results regarding the realisation of an Android simulator for the study of dispersionmanaged solitons in optical fibre transmission system which has been incorporated to a web-basedcomputer laboratory.
