摘要

Since 2006, digital competence has been one of five basic competences in the Norwegian curriculum.Therefore, it is interesting both from a theoretical perspective and from a more practical perspective toidentify and to operationalize the concept digital competence. The findings from this paper support adistinction of digital competence into three themes; functional knowledge, information knowledge, anddigital production. Another objective of this paper was to examine the relationship between digitalcompetence, goal orientation, cultural capital, time spent on the computer, and gender. Analysis of thefindings from the study showed that digital competence was positively related to mastery orientation,cultural capital, and gender (being a female).
