Along with the national economy continually development, the formaldehyde pollution problem is increasingly serious, the traditional methods,for example, adsorptive method, condensing method, oxygen flask method, biodegradation method and so on, already couid not be completely satisfied tothe developing need. It urgently needs to research and develop a new degradation technology In this paper, a majority of gas molecules irt the air such as O2and H2O are ionized and made into OH of high concentration by using strong ionization discharge method Under the condition ofjfcrmal temperature,non-catalyst and non-absorbent, Formaldehyde is directly oxidized into CO2 and H2O in the plasma reactor without the second pollution. This paperdiscusses the degradation mechanisms of strong ionization discharge, and some factors that influence the Formaldehyde removal efficiency, such as initialconcentration, gas flow, residence time, and applied voltage.
