Due to tremendous advents in Applied Mathematics and Numerical analysis, mathematical approaches have been significantly involved in all geoscience fields and played key roles in their advances and achieved successes. Geophysics is one of the fields that have witnessed great developments and led to understand deep subsurface and reveal its buried resources. In geophysics, seismic method is the most widely used technique. Seismic signals recorded from subsurface are found to be rich in information about earth lithology and fluids (oil, gas, water). In fact, over last decades a large number of mathematical approaches have been invoked and successfully implemented in discovering oil and gas reserves in clastic and carbonate reservoirs in onshore and offshore.
