FACIES AND DISTRIBUTION OF EARLY PALEOZOIC BRACHIOPOD COMMUNITIES ON THE SHELF ZONE OF THE TIMAN-NORTHERN URALIAN BASIN

Facieszones in the Timan-Northern Umlian Basin during the Late Ordovician-Early Devonian interval are highly variable,ranging from littoral in the western and central parts of the region to continental slope in the east (Yeliseyev,1978；Majdl’,1987).The highest taxonomic diversity of brachiopods and another benthic fauna is found in the northeastern part of the paleobasin.and the lowest diversity in the north-western part.Ecological types of brachiopods are determined based on teh scheme of Ivanova (1962).
