The Newest Continuous Galvanizing Line in China for Manufacturing Automotive Galvanizing and Galvannealing Steel Sheets by POSCO

POSCO, one of the global suppliers in steel industry, has globally invested in cold rolling mill and continuous galvanizing lines as 100% sole ventures since 2009, which are in Mexico, India, Vietnam and China. In 2012, POSCO has conducted the "Guangdong CGL Project" and established continuous galvanizing line of 450,000 tons per year capacity of Galvanizing and Galvannealing steel sheets at the location of Foshan, Guangdong, China. The concept of composing the galvanizing and galvannealing facilities in Guangdong CGL was mainly focused on the quality requirements of world top classed customer companies of automotive and home appliance, and the target was achieving the same products qualities of the CGLs located in Gwangyang steel works, Korea, which provide the highest quality exposed panels and AHSS to world top major customers. In this study, pre-cleaning, furnace, zinc pot, induction heating for galvannealing, GI-ACE, and other related technologies utilized in Guangdong CGL in order to meet the requirements of surface and mechanical properties will be presented.
